Gumball 3000

Dennis called in the morning and asked us whether we wanted to go to Gumball 3000. I was like 'wtf?!' cos I just woke up and was hearing such a cheesy event name for the first time. After wiki-ing it, I realized that it was some kind of annual rally held every year where exotic cars are used for this event. So wu liao one, the rich and famous who had nothing better to do other than to blow 28k pounds to race around 3 continents in 8 days in their Lambos and Aston Martins. So I decided to go.

Met up with him at Pall Mall at 2.00pm (actually it was 2.15pm, we're somehow always late whenever we're supposed to meet up with Dennis) where a huge crowd had gathered for the race to begin at 4. We started walking down the grid where all those rich basta- i mean, contestants cars were placed and ready to begin. It was something out of a motor show - from the SLRs to the Carrera GTs; even a few Phantoms and Enzos were used in the race.

A Sunny day in Pall Mall

10 minutes to start, everybody's getting ready

The chrome-plated Gallardo from Dubai

But of course, all these cars will kena sau pei when this is competing with them....

Yes, a freaking F1 car.

While most will shudder in fear, only one will sau the F1 car with ease...

Yes, the sole Bugatti in the race.

I've also got a few clips of the start..

Royal Albert Hall

Went for a concert last Friday with Soh Khun at the Royal Albert Hall. Being an ignoramus in classical music who couldn't differentiate the works or different composers, it was all the more uninteresting for me to attend these type of concerts. I just only wanted to see the RAH from the inside instead; looking at the orchestra below and experiencing the atmosphere of this historical hall.

The view of the RAH from our seats

The ceiling of the RAH

The stage~!!

Another shot of the RAH

While the concert had already started....
The stage during the intermission~~
The music of the orchestra in the RAH can be described, in the words of Tony Leung in Infernal Affairs (translated) :

High note sweet
Middle note accurate
Strong bass

One word : transparent

Now, to think of which hall to visit next.....

Mr. Slacker, I presume?

I've lived up to my name again.

I admit, the study process has not being what was planned, and is progressing slowly. Econometrics still looks like Elvish to me, Financial Markets and Corporate Finance are like evil twin brothers and International Business Economics actually is simple...if you don't include the theories in. Another 3 weeks to go before the first paper starts.. even though the obstacles are huge, I haven't somewhat panicked yet...a sign of confidence, or impending doom?

The new headphones came in a few days ago. The sounds are excellent. Definitely a good replacement for the previous Sennheisers. The earcups just fitted my ears perfectly and is comfortable, unlike the previous Sennheisers. The noise-cancelling, I haven't tested yet. Haven't psyched up myself to walk around busy London with a huge pair of headphones over my head. Unless I try it at a busy corner in the library, hmmm....

Back to studying I guess....
